Women are in short supply this far west, and one of the madams had been keeping a fox bitch as a novelty. It gave birth not long ago. I have heard stories from the newest reinforcements, telling of more of these half-breeds spotted across the Rim. Accursed white hair like that of an old man, pale skin that can bear the sun longer than we thought, and eyes of blue or brown instead of red. “Milk bastards” they have taken to calling them. A fresh curse. Though their blood has now contaminated and mixed with ours, these half-breeds cannot hide their true nature. They are still shady as any full-blood fox.
